Data Deletion Instructions
This page explains how to request deletion of your personal data from Hooked, including data associated with Facebook Login.
Option 1: Delete your account in the app
Sign in to Hooked, then go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. Your account and personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
Option 2: Email us a deletion request
Send an email to privacy@carpnearme.co.uk with the subject line “Data Deletion Request”. Please include your name and username (or the email address you registered with) so we can locate your account.
Parents & Guardians
If you believe a child under 13 has created an account without your consent, email privacy@carpnearme.co.uk with the child’s username or account name. We will verify and delete the account promptly.
What We Delete
Upon a valid deletion request, we permanently remove:
- Your account details (name, email, username, date of birth, profile photo).
- Facebook Login association and any tokens we hold.
- Saved locations and search history.
- Catch reports, photos, reviews, and comments you have posted.
Timescale
We will delete or anonymise your data within 30 days of receiving your request. We will send you a confirmation email when deletion is complete.
What We May Keep
We may retain certain data where required by law or for legitimate business purposes, including:
- Records required for legal, tax, or regulatory compliance.
- Data needed to investigate or prevent fraud.
- Fully anonymised, aggregated data that cannot be linked back to you.
Disconnecting Facebook Only
If you want to remove Hooked’s access to your Facebook account without deleting your Hooked account, go to: Facebook → Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites → Hooked → Remove. This revokes our access token; your Hooked account will remain active.
